When Romeo Veshaj first decided to talk about his split from Heidi Baci, there didn't seem to be any major drama on the horizon. We heard about a story that had ended, told simply, without subtext and without much room for interpretation.
"My relationship with Heidi ended respectfully. We met on the inside, stayed out for three months and it didn't work out. We had different views on life."
So, a relationship that started on a reality show ( Big Brother VIP Albania 3 ), lasted for a while outside (3 months) and ended because they were incompatible. But a few days later, when Heidi spoke, the story no longer seemed so linear.
"At least from my perspective it wasn't a quarterly thing, the way it was presented. For my part, I will always speak only for myself. There were sacrifices, there was dedication, there were feelings and all these things."
Where Romeo talks about the length of time and why it didn't work out, Heidi focuses on what happened within those months. On the experience and the weight the relationship had on her, not just the fact that it ended. The difference becomes even more apparent in the word "respect."
For Romeo, it's the final point of his statement, as a way to close the story without drama. For Heidi, it's exactly what doesn't match her experience:
"No, the separation was not as respectful as it was presented, as it was sold."
At this point, we no longer have just two versions, but two ways of looking at the same thing. Romeo sees the breakup as a peaceful conclusion, Heidi as a process that hasn't been as simple as it seems from the outside.
Heidi also dwells on something else: the way the story has been told publicly.
"I'm upset, I'm hurt by the way my ex-relationship has been talked about. I've been thinking about how that relationship actually went, how it was presented to the public. There are some things I don't like, I don't like when they talk about my perspective."
She shifts her narrative from “what happened between us” to “how what happened was told.” Heidi even mentions a promise not to speak publicly, a detail that suggests Romeo’s decision to speak has broken the promise.
"A promise was made that I didn't want to talk about, because it was something very important that couldn't be media or click fodder. I just wanted to honor it."
Along the same lines, she also expressed disappointment over the fact that Romeo did not react to the moderators' jokes, who reduced the relationship to "two hours", a moment that, for her, trivialized a former relationship that she considers important.
In the end, the main difference is this: Romeo told how it ended. Heidi told how it was experienced. And between these two narratives, the same relationship takes two very different forms.
Perhaps this is also the most common part of stories that end: not that one side is right and the other is wrong, but that the same relationship can be lived differently by two people.
