Kylie Jenner's former assistant, Victoria Villarroel, has revealed the moment she realized she had to quit her job after their relationship began to cross professional boundaries.
"I remember it like it was yesterday, it was the fifth year," Villarroel said on Thursday's episode of her podcast "Better Half," which she co-hosts with Jenner's friend Stassie Karanikolaou.

“We were in the kitchen and Kylie said to me, ‘Vic, I need my laptop, it’s upstairs.’ And I said, ‘Ugh, who’s going to get it?’” she recalled, laughing.
She added: “I said something like, 'Ugh, it seems far away, I don't want to go up and get your laptop.'”

Villarroel explained that, even though they had a working relationship, it's impossible not to develop closeness when you spend every day with a person.
"You know everything about them, you are with them all the time, in both good and difficult times."
She shared that at a certain point, she and Jenner realized together that the time had come for their collaboration as assistant and employer to end.

Villarroel admitted that this moment made her feel insecure:
“I remember being very nervous and thinking, 'Am I making the right decision? What if I'm leaving the best job I could ever have?'”
She added that people around her told her not to leave a job that many others would do anything for.

When she spoke to Jenner about leaving, the founder of the Kylie Cosmetics brand reacted with understanding and expressed her support for whatever path she would choose in the future.
“She’s the most understanding person; she said, ‘Oh God, Vic, I want you to succeed and I’ll always support you. I love you so much.’”
Villarroel's departure did not bring any conflict between them. She left her job as an assistant in January 2020, at which time it was reported that she had decided to pursue a career as an influencer.
According to sources, the two have remained friends and continue to have a close relationship today. Villarroel has been part of Jenner's inner circle for many years.
