A serious incident has shaken the eastern suburbs of Naples. A 22-year-old girl, Ylenia Musella, was stabbed to death in the back by her brother after a violent attack that took place in the popular Conocal neighborhood, in the Ponticelli area. The girl also had visible signs of violence on her face.
The perpetrator of the murder, Giuseppe Musella, 28 years old, surrendered himself to the police after a few hours on the run and confessed to the crime. The motive for the murder, as the young man admitted, was a quarrel over loud music. The young man wanted to sleep and, for this reason, hit his sister to death. The Naples prosecutor's office ordered his arrest on charges of intentional murder.
According to investigators, the incident occurred after a heated argument within the family. Ylenia and Giuseppe lived in the same apartment in the social housing complex in Conocal Park. Their mother and stepfather are currently in prison and, according to investigations, the relationship between the brother and sister had been tense for a long time.
After the attack, Ylenia was taken by car to the Evangelical Hospital "Villa Betania", where she arrived in critical condition. The vehicle that left her in front of the emergency room immediately left and was later identified through security cameras. Despite the efforts of doctors, the young woman died shortly after admission due to severe damage to vital organs.
The attack is believed to have taken place in the street, amid screams that alerted residents of the area. The knife used in the crime has not yet been found.
Family and friends of the victim gathered outside the hospital, shocked by the pain.
"She was always full of light and energy," friends say, remembering Ylenia for her smile and liveliness.
The Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, expressed his condolences to the family, while Prefect Michele di Bari stressed that law enforcement and justice are working to fully clarify the incident.
