"The Devil Wears Prada" returns after twenty years and is expected to be released on May 1. The actors have been working for months, and now that filming is over, Meryl Streep feels happier and for good reason.

Her biggest worry during the job was the high heels, which she had been forced to wear for 16 weeks. Tired of it, she humorously said she was beginning to suspect she was suffering from PTSD.

Explanation: PTSD is a psychological disorder that occurs after experiencing a traumatic event and is associated with anxiety, intense memories, and ongoing stress.

"As someone who has held her position for 20 years, she kept her style but adapted it, as we do with the times," Streep told Vogue magazine about her character's wardrobe in 2026.

"But I almost had PTSD from wearing high heels for 16 weeks. I feel like I should be awarded the Medal of Freedom," she said with humor.

She then went on to talk about revisiting Miranda Priestly's iconic wardrobe. According to her, the clothes had hardly changed at all, not because they were old, but because the style had remained the same, simply adapted to the times. She described the experience as being like trying on clothes from the past in the hope that they would be made again.

“It was like searching in the closet and finding something, thinking: 'Does it still work for me?'”
