Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Monday accused Ukraine of trying to interfere in his country's upcoming elections and ordered Kiev's ambassador to be summoned to the Foreign Ministry.
This was Victor Orbán's latest step in a long campaign against Ukraine, as he seeks to convince voters that the neighboring country poses a threat to Hungary's security and sovereignty.
In a video posted on social media on Monday, Orbán said that Ukraine's political leaders, even the president himself, made extremely offensive and threatening statements against Hungary, while he is expected to face one of the biggest challenges of his 16 years in power during elections scheduled for April 12.
Woman who stabbed 15 people at Hamburg train station to be sent to psychiatric hospital, court rules
A woman who stabbed 15 people in an attack at Hamburg's central train station in northern Germany last year and was sentenced on Monday to indefinite detention in a psychiatric hospital.
According to a court spokesman, the 39-year-old woman, who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, could not be held criminally responsible for the May 23 attack.
The woman stole a knife from a pharmacy and attacked passengers waiting at the station, seriously injuring at least four people.
California Governor Gavin Newsom accuses TikTok of censoring content critical of Trump
California Governor Gavin Newsom has accused TikTok of blocking the circulation of content critical of President Donald Trump, while he has begun reviewing the platform's content moderation practices to assess whether they violate state laws.
TikTok said this happened due to a technical problem in the system.
This event comes after ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, announced last week that it had finalized an agreement to create a joint venture with mostly American ownership, which will store the data of American users, to avoid a ban on the application in the US, used by over 200 million Americans.
French lawmakers vote to ban social media use by under-15s
French lawmakers have approved a bill that would ban the use of social media by children under 15, a move supported by President Emmanuel Macron as a way to protect children from excessive screen time.
The bill will pass the Senate and, if approved, will begin implementation for new accounts starting at the beginning of the 2026 school year, while platforms will have until December 31 to deactivate existing accounts that do not comply with the user age limit.
This law also provides for the banning of mobile phones in secondary schools and this would make France the second country after Australia to take such a step for children under the age of 16.
