Gisele Bündchen's family is concerned about the supermodel's decision to marry her partner, jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, fearing that she did not enter the marriage with a sufficiently protective strategy, especially financially.
A source told Page Six: "Her family warned her that marrying a man without wealth, when she's worth millions, is a mistake."
Although Joaquim Valente has celebrity clients and runs his own martial arts academy in Miami with his brothers, Bündchen's fame and fortune are on a whole other level. The Brazilian model has been named the world's highest-paid supermodel several times and, according to celebritynetworth.com, has amassed a fortune of around $400 million.
“The family told her to just live together,” the source says. “But between Valente’s pressure and the fact that Gisele is traditional, she thought that since they have a child together, marriage made sense.”
The couple welcomed a son in February and married in an intimate ceremony in November. A source said at the time that Valente was "so happy to finally get married after having a child together."
The couple reportedly have a prenup, but it's not as strong as Gisele's family would like. "There is a prenup , but it has some loopholes that mean that, in the event of a divorce, he would benefit financially," the source explains.
Gisele Bündchen divorced American football star Tom Brady in 2022. They have two children together, Benjamin and Vivian, 16 and 13 years old.
