Meghan Markle may be married into the British royal family, but she experiences family dramas like any ordinary person.
It was recently reported that she had contacted her father, Thomas Markle, following emergency surgery to have his left leg amputated below the knee due to a blood clot. He is in the Philippines and is in intensive care.

A spokesperson told People magazine on December 5 that Meghan had contacted her father after years of estrangement. However, Thomas Markle claims he has not received any messages from his daughter and says he has not changed his phone number. A source at the hospital where he is being treated said that, according to them, there has been no contact from Meghan or her entourage.
It was later revealed that Meghan had contacted her father not by phone or video, but via email. The problem is that the email was sent to an address that Thomas hasn't used in at least five years.

Despite all the misunderstanding, Thomas Markle says he is still open to reconciliation with his daughter:
"I've always said I'm open to reconciling with my daughter. I've never stopped loving her. I don't want to die away from Meghan. I want to meet my grandchildren. It would be nice to meet her husband too."

In the end, it remains unclear whether contact occurred or not, but the story between Meghan and her father continues to be filled with tension, misunderstandings, and hope for reconciliation.
