Louis Tomlinson spoke openly about the infamous interview that YouTuber Logan Paul gave to the late former One Direction member Liam Payne in 2022, a conversation that, according to Tomlinson, is still the source of his disgust towards Logan Paul.
“I hate that damn thing forever... a terrible, terrible person,” he told The Independent in a new interview.
In that interview on the "Impaulsive" podcast, Liam Payne spoke about how Simon Cowell created the group One Direction, claiming that the group was built "around Liam."
In a moment that went viral, Liam Payne called Louis Tomlinson a "loud" man and revealed that one of the band members (without mentioning his name) had pushed him against the wall backstage at a concert.
Louis, now 33, criticized the way Logan Paul handled the interview and said:
“I think that's the problem with some of these new forms of 'media.' I'd like to think that most journalists, at least some, have a duty to look after the guests.”
After the publication of this interview, Payne faced a fierce backlash from fans and later apologized, saying:
“I was so angry about everything that was happening around me… and I took my anger out on others.”
He also revealed that he had spent 100 days in rehab.
Sadly, Liam Payne died in October 2024, after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old.
According to the medical examiner's report, Payne suffered a fractured skull and was bleeding internally and externally. His blood alcohol level was found to be four times the legal limit, as well as several narcotic substances, including cocaine and benzodiazepine.
A month later, former members of One Direction gathered near London to say their final goodbyes to Liam.
