Not many weeks have passed since her breakup with Shaun White and Nina Dobrev's name is immediately being linked to another famous actor: Zac Efron.
After photos and videos from their vacation in Italy, where they were seen spending time together on a yacht with mutual friends, the networks exploded with the question: "Is there something between them?"
But the "Vampire Diaries" actress made it clear to TMZ that she and Zac are not romantically involved. Asked directly if they are a couple, Nina shakes her head in a resounding "no." When reporters prodded her further, she added curtly:
“We are just friends.”
The 36-year-old didn't stop at the rumors, but spoke about herself and her plans:
"I'm excited about the future and the only thing that's guaranteed is change," she said.
Nina and Zac, 37, were spotted on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia last month, alongside celebrity pals Miles and Keleigh Teller, as well as "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford. In the photo, the pair were seen laughing, chatting and looking close, which immediately sparked speculation of a new romance.
But these vacations came at a sensitive time for Dobrev: on September 11, it was announced that she had ended her engagement to former Olympic champion Shaun White, after five years of dating and nearly a year of engagement.
Sources close to the couple described the split as a "mutual decision," although Daily Mail reports revealed that the reason was a difference in priorities: Shaun wanted to start a family, while Nina was focusing on her career.
