The European Commission approved the support package for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland, deeming the project compatible with EU state aid rules.
The plant, which will be built in Choczewo and will have three American AP1000 reactors, is expected to start producing energy in 2036 and provide a stable, clean supply for decades.
The Polish government sees the project as essential for energy independence and reducing emissions, and construction is expected to begin this month.
