Ben Affleck's marriages may not have been long, but it must be admitted that he manages to maintain good relations with his ex-partners. This also applies to Jennifer Lopez, with whom he went through a much-talked-about divorce. However, according to the singer, he played a key role during a difficult period and in the realization of her latest artistic project.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Lopez revealed that it was Affleck who helped her make Kiss of the Spider Woman, a project she describes as her "last refuge" at a time when their relationship was going through a crisis.
“It was hard not to think about certain things,” she confesses.
"But, in a way, it was the best and the worst time at the same time. Every moment I was on set, every moment I was playing the role, I felt incredibly happy. And then, when I came home, everything was somber."
Regarding this experience, she said:
"In fact, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It helped me grow, to know myself better. I'm a different person today than I was just a year ago."
Despite the breakup, J.Lo admits that Ben Affleck was a huge support to her in making the film, on which he served as a co-producer.
“This film would never have been made without him and Artist Equity . I will always give them the credit they deserve, they financed the project. I told him it was a role I was born to play and that I had to do it. He said 'okay' and helped me make it happen.”
