US President Donald Trump said on Saturday he would send military troops to Portland, Oregon, stressing that he was ready to authorize "full force, if necessary," to confront what he called "domestic terrorism," as he expanded the controversial presence of federal forces in other American cities.
In a social media announcement, Trump said he had ordered the Department of Defense to "provide all necessary troops to protect Portland, which he said is like a war zone."
The decision, according to the president, was necessary to protect US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities, which he described as "besieged by attacks from Antifa and other domestic terrorists."

Moldovans in crucial election between Europe and Russia
Moldovan citizens are heading to the polls to participate in parliamentary elections that are considered crucial, with a central question dividing the country: will Moldova continue on the path towards European integration, or will it return to Moscow's influence?
Sunday's vote will determine the composition of the new 101-seat parliament. After the election, the country's president appoints a prime minister, usually from the winning party or bloc, who then tries to form a government. The proposed government must be approved by parliament.
The race is quite tense, with the ruling Party for Action and Solidarity (PAS), with a pro-Western orientation and a strong majority since 2021, at risk of losing control, facing several rival parties with a pro-Russian orientation, but without any strong pro-European partner.
