Jessica Simpson left her fans confused when she appeared on the red carpet of the 2025 VMAs on Sunday.
Although the pop star shone in a sheer mesh dress by Christian Siriano, it was her altered face that sparked conversation.
"Is this Jessica Simpson? It doesn't look like her! But it looks nice," wrote one fan on X.
Others compared her to much younger stars, like Addison Rae or model Brooks Nader.
Fans were even more confused when Simpson presented Ricky Martin with the first Latin Icon award, revealing a "pulled-up" face.
One user wrote on X: “Jessica Simpson looks like she had an allergic reaction to an expired can of candy,” recalling a famous moment on her reality show . Others suggested the dramatic change could be due to a facelift or multiple fillers .
However, some fans defended her new look.
“Jessica Simpson looks amazing, shut up,” one user wrote. Another added: “She looks amazing! She’s 45 and we’re not in the 2000s anymore.”
Recall that in December 2024, Simpson surprised fans when she shared a previously unseen photo of herself on Instagram, promoting her first album in a decade.
In her 2020 memoir, she recounted two abdominal surgeries, including one that left her hospitalized for nine days due to an infection. “Plastic surgery doesn’t fix what’s inside,” she wrote.
