Blake Lively is set to return with a bang with a new film project, this time in a romantic comedy with action elements titled The Survival List . The film, now in the "hands" of Lionsgate , will have the actress not only in the lead role, but also in the role of co-producer.
The film's narrative follows Annie, a reality show producer , who is forced to work with Chopper Lane, a self-proclaimed "survival expert." But when the two end up on an isolated island, Annie discovers that Chopper is a con artist with no real survival skills. Left with no other choice, she takes matters into her own hands to survive, as an unexpected chemistry begins to develop between them.
The Survival List marks Lively's first return to filmmaking since her legal battle with director Justin Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star . In December 2024, the actress sued Baldoni for sexual harassment, and he countersued her with a $400 million defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025, but the case is expected to go to trial in March 2026.

Lively's most recent role was in Another Simple Favor , the sequel to the hit A Simple Favor, which premiered at the SXSW festival in March and was released on Prime Video in May 2025.
With The Survival List, the actress seems determined to turn the page and return with new energy to a genre that mixes adventure, humor, and romance, a formula that has brought her success before.
Lionsgate has already acquired the project, while details about the director and cast are expected to be revealed soon.
