Sophie Turner reveals how her innocent flirtation ruined this famous couple's engagement

An unintentional flirtation seems to have caused a sensational breakup in Hollywood.

Sophie Turner confessed in an interview with Seth Meyers that years ago, at a VIP party, she inadvertently found herself at the center of a romantic drama that led to the end of a famous couple's engagement.

The 29-year-old actress said she was accompanying a childhood friend to the 2014 event when the latter asked her to say hello to an actor she admired. Sophie, without recognizing the boy, simply greeted him from a distance.

Then, when he approached to greet a well-known actress he admired, the latter exploded:

"Can you stop flirting with my fiancé?!"

Sophie Turner was surprised and explained that she didn't even know the actor. However, according to her, the couple broke up, breaking off their engagement that night.

“I didn't know I had this kind of power,” she joked.

The names were not mentioned during the interview, with the excuse that "there would be trouble" if they were revealed. But the network did not delay in conducting its own "investigations."

On Reddit and social networks, fans have connected the pieces of the story and the main suspicions fall on Emma Roberts and Evan Peters, a couple who had a very turbulent relationship during that period.

Roberts and Peters began dating in 2012, got engaged in late 2013, and were at the event Sophie mentioned in the summer of 2014. In fact, photos published by the Daily Mail at the time show the actress crying outside a hotel while friends consoled her after a party they both attended.

A user on Reddit commented:

"The words are saying it's Emma Roberts and Evan Peters, and that makes a lot of sense."

Another added: "Sounds like something Emma would do."

But not everyone is convinced. Some fans are wondering why Sophie Turner would admire Emma Roberts so much that she would go over and say hello to her. That remains a question mark, but it doesn't diminish the drama that everyone is commenting on.

Meanwhile, Sophie Turner's personal life has taken a different turn. After splitting from Joe Jonas in 2023, she has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with aristocrat Peregrine "Perry" Pearson, while co-parenting their two daughters with Jonas.
