Eliona Pitarka has been thrust into the spotlight after a video she posted on Instagram, where she joined the latest social media trend , #NickiMinajChallenge. In the video, she is seen posing in heels on a pot, with her 1-month-old daughter on her arm, while breastfeeding and holding a bottle at the same time.
The video went viral within hours and divided followers into two “camps.” Some praised it for its courage and the way it portrayed the strength of mothers in real life. There were people who commented, “Tell me something a mom doesn’t do?” and “Who runs the world? Moms!”, who saw this moment as a representation of modern superwomen.
But on the other hand, there were also harsh comments that described the action as reckless and dangerous for a small baby. "With all due respect, this is not something to brag about. Thank God nothing happened, but if by chance she were to fall, this baby at such a young age could suffer internal and external damage for the rest of her life," someone wrote.
“How stupid and dangerous. Narcissistic behavior that puts the desire for attention above everything else, risking the safety of a newborn,” another comment read. “Think carefully before you act, because one mistake can change everything.”
Seeing the reactions, Eliona decided to respond publicly, through a photo of her daughter where she wrote:
"I understand it seems scary - a baby on a table and a mom in heels, but people, before you worry about a table and a pose in heels, remember that my mom has been lifting heavier weights than me for years and has never left the gym without stepping on it. We also both lifted weights together every month of our pregnancy. So, please, a little respect for a certified supermom! Relax, I'm more at risk from an inappropriate comment than mom's balance on a table!"
Further, he adds:
"My mom did belly-to-mouth planks, so a heel stand on a table? Simple."
