
Poland/ The arrest of three Belarusian citizens is ordered

A court in Poland has ordered the arrest of three officials of Belarusian origin, after they are accused of diverting a Ryanair flight in order to capture a dissident journalist who was on board. The event took place in 2021. The plane had departed from Greece to Lithuania and was about to land in Minsk, due to a false bomb alarm. After landing, journalist Roman Protasevich and his companion Sofia Sapega were arrested.
The three officials, who controlled air traffic, forced the plane to make an emergency landing. The authorities said that among these people is also a former director of the aviation clearing agency. All three people live outside Poland, but are carrying out procedures to be prosecuted internationally.
West Coast/ A Turkish-American activist is killed

A Turkish-American activist has been a victim of Israeli attacks. She was killed with a bullet to the head and is 26 years old. The victim, named Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, was killed in Beita, in the West Bank.
According to media in Palestine, she was a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement and was part of a broad campaign to protect Palestinian farmers. The girl in question is the third volunteer of this Movement, who was killed by Israeli forces in Palestine. Earlier, Rachel Corrie was killed in 2003 and Tom Hurndall in 2004.
The summer of 2024 is recorded as the hottest summer

The summer of 2024 has been recorded as the hottest in Earth's history, says the Climate Change Service "Copernicus". It was also the hottest summer in Europe, as it marked an increase of 1.54 degrees Celsius above the average, surpassing the 2022 record.

US/Biden approves additional aid to Ukraine
