Hailey Bieber recently shared a personal detail about her health, explaining why pregnancy was something she didn't expect. She revealed that she suffers from a congenital condition called uterine septum , an anatomical feature where a thin wall partially divides the uterus.
According to her, this was one of the reasons why doctors had previously mentioned to her that pregnancy might not always be easy. In some cases, this condition can affect the normal development of pregnancy, as it is associated with a higher risk of miscarriage or premature birth.
For this reason, specialists had previously suggested that a minor surgical intervention might be necessary, especially if she decided to try to have a child.

However, even though she had no immediate plans to become a mother at the time, the model fell pregnant naturally, something that surprised even her. According to experts, uterine septum occurs in a relatively small percentage of women and can have different sizes, affecting fertility or the progress of pregnancy to different degrees.
In Hailey's case, the condition was classified as a moderate uterine septum, meaning there were some potential risks. However, her pregnancy continued without complications and everything went well.
Speaking publicly about this experience, Hailey emphasized that she wants to contribute to raising awareness about women's health and about various medical conditions that many women may have without knowing it.
What is uterine septum ?

A uterine septum is a congenital abnormality of the uterus that forms during embryonic development. In this case, a thin wall partially or completely divides the uterine cavity. In many cases, this condition does not cause symptoms and is only discovered during gynecological examinations or when a woman is trying to get pregnant. However, in some cases it can be associated with difficulties in pregnancy, an increased risk of miscarriage or premature birth. If necessary, this condition can also be treated with minor surgical interventions.
