At this point, we had forgotten that Rihanna is a singer, because we've been waiting for her to release a new song (or album, even better) for so many years. So when she released her first single in so many years, "Friend of Mine ," the world was surprised and listened to so much that the song debuted at number one, topping the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.
Rihanna released the new song, as a soundtrack for the movie “Smurfs” and left behind well-known names in the dance genre, such as DJ Snake, Kesha and even Avicii.
The song marked her return to the top of the list since “This is What You Came For”, her famous collaboration with Calvin Harris, a song that debuted at number one on the chart in May 2016.
Riri, when releasing a new song, rarely remains outside the Top 10!
Throughout her career, Rihanna has taken a total of 11 positions on the Dance Digital Song Sales list and all but one have reached the top 10. She has been ranked second twice:
-With the song “We Found Love”, a collaboration with Calvin Harris
-With the song “Who's That Chick?”, a collaboration with David Guetta
