Therapists approve: These are the 4 habits that happy couples follow

According to experts, to enjoy a successful relationship, you need more than just "spending time together." Below are 4 basic tips for a happy romantic life, based on psychologists and relationship therapists.

To feel comfortable with each other

Happy couples often jokingly refer to each other as an “old shoe.” This description refers to the feel, not the look. They are not describing each other as worn out, but as comfortable to wear.

Two lovers want to be close to each other because that's where they can be 100% themselves, without makeup, without the most beautiful clothes, just so carefree. So, act like a "comfortable shoe" for your partner: Create a safe, encouraging, and attractive space for your loved one.

To speak

Happy couples don't sit in a restaurant, eat and that's it. They talk. About everything. But they also listen and pay attention to each other. Within a healthy relationship, there are no "taboo" topics. Happy couples say that healthy dialogue unites more than it divides. It's the "cliché" that experts will never stop saying: Communicate, speak freely!

To laugh

Couples who laugh together, stay together. Yes, you need love, commitment, respect, mutual admiration, and all that, but you also need to have fun together. Oh, and another reason? Laughter releases endorphins that make you want to be with each other more.

Dr. Doris Bazzini, in collaboration with other authors, studied the impact of laughter on relationship satisfaction and the study found that couples who recalled past situations that included great laughter reported higher relationship satisfaction.

Selective attention

Want to remind your partner why they fell in love with you? Make them feel like they're the only person in the room, even in a crowd. Isn't this how you acted when you first fell in love?

Maintain eye contact. Leave your phone in your pocket and don't give everyone equal attention. Try this the next time you go out and see the positive impact.

Couples with "bad" habits can change the dynamics of their relationship starting today. Talk, laugh, pay attention, and make each other feel comfortable. Developing and practicing positive habits will improve your relationship and the quality of time you spend together.
