It is said that Prince William, still very angry with his brother, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, may remove their "His/Her Majesty" titles once he takes the throne that he will inherit from his father, King Charles III.
"Charles can put up with what Meghan and Harry did, but not William," an anonymous royal family source told the Daily Beast, referring to Markle's use of the title "Her Excellency," especially for marketing purposes for her brands.
"He hates and despises Harry and Meghan with every fiber of his being and believes they have betrayed the family and every value it believes in. The idea that they are using their royal status as a calling card infuriates Prince William," the anonymous person said.
The source also claims that Markle violated an agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II by using her royal title to promote her brand “As Ever.” Speaking to Jamier Kern Lima on her podcast, Markle talked about a homemade strawberry sauce, revealing that she sends notes that accompany the basket. The notes read: “With love from Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Sussex.”
Another source, a friend of William, said that Meghan is taking advantage of Charles' weakness.
"Charles has completely lost control," the source said, adding that it is "clear" that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "intended to make him suffer for the years he has left. Meghan's use of titles shows how weak and powerless he is," he stressed.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior members of the royal family to move to California in 2020. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become parents to Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
