This year's Met Gala, which falls on the evening of May 5, is approaching and we're all ready to give our critiques of the VIPs' crazy outfits as they walk the red carpet.

The Met Gala is the most important fashion event of the year, and while famous names parade in their iconic outfits, others use the event to make big announcements or publicly display their relationship for the first time.

It's possible that this year we'll see a celebrity couple appear together (Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet's official outing, for example), but the real question is: will they both really want this?

In recent years, fans have noticed that many couples have broken up after their first official appearance at the Met Gala and have started calling this phenomenon "the curse of the Met Gala."

What is the "Met Gala curse"?

In simple terms, the "curse" means that, the moment a famous couple steps out together for the first time on the Met Gala red carpet or simply attends the event, they end up breaking up.

On the other hand, other VIPs like Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston met at the Met Gala and began a romance together. Things didn't end well.

This "curse" has appeared several times over the years, which makes you think that the Met Gala may indeed be a black omen for lovebirds.
