Benny Blanco considers the comparison to Bad Bunny a huge compliment. During an interview, the 37-year-old songwriter was asked about a mishap at the Oscars, where he was mistaken for Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny.
A photo of him and fiancée Selena Gomez was mistakenly posted by the Academy's official account as "Selena Gomez and Bad Bunny." Although the post was quickly edited, Blanco humorously acknowledged it, finding Bad Bunny very attractive. He said, "Yes, I am Bad Bunny now!"
The moment came after the release of their collaborative album, "I Said I Love You First." They talked about the process of writing the album. Gomez, 32, called Blanco her "personal diary," while Blanco noted that he often wrote on his phone when she said something interesting that could be turned into a song lyric. Gomez humorously explained that it didn't bother her.
The couple, who got engaged in December 2024, said in an interview that they were more focused on music than planning their wedding. Blanco said Gomez often plans the wedding in her mind, while he described their relationship as a journey they live every day. Gomez added that this is a special moment that they are expressing on their album, reflecting the love and emotions they feel.
According to a press release, the album offers a unique look at the couple's relationship and tells their story, including the period before they first met, falling in love and hopes for the future.
