TikTok certainly never ceases to inspire us, so we can all sit for hours watching professional makeup artists share their art on our screens. However, they don't just share with us their favorite or least favorite products, but also other things.
The best thing is when they share techniques and tricks that will make our makeup routine better and often easier. One such thing is "underpainting."
But what is underpainting and how can we incorporate it into our routine?
According to celebrity makeup artist Monika Blunder, underpainting means applying concealer, blush, and contour before applying foundation. It may sound a little strange at first, as foundation, as we've learned over the years, is the base on which we build. However, as celebrity makeup artist Allison Kaye said, this technique leads to a very beautiful result as the products blend better and give a look and feel that resembles natural skin.
Many of you may be familiar with this technique, as it has gone viral, but few of you know how to perfect it. Of course, there are a few steps that help this type of makeup achieve its full effect.
The first thing is to prepare the face with a good skincare routine (depending on our skin's needs, of course) and don't forget to apply primer before applying products.
The second and most important thing is when choosing the foundation to apply, choose one with a lighter coverage so that it balances skin tones but does not "hide" the products we have applied underneath.
The last thing is, whether we choose a brush or a sponge, to swatch like in the video below.

With this technique, you will achieve the right result, which consists of a beautiful and extremely natural look, ideal for everyday use.
