France and Britain propose month-long partial ceasefire in Ukraine
France and Britain are proposing a one-month partial ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine that would not cover ground fighting, French President Emmanuel Macron told the media.
However, Macron said the ceasefire would cover air, naval and energy infrastructure attacks.
"In the event of a ceasefire, it would be very difficult to verify that (the fighting) along the front was being respected," Macron told Le Figaro, adding that the front line was equal to the distance between Paris and Budapest.
Zelensky: "Ukraine is ready to sign mineral agreement after incident with Trump"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters late Sunday that his country is "ready" to sign the U.S.-Ukraine minerals deal.
Just days after leaving the White House without signing the agreement, Zelensky said:
"I just want the Ukrainian position to be heard. We want our partners to remember who the aggressor is in this war."
The agreement was scheduled to be signed after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Zelensky on Friday.
Israel criticized after blocking humanitarian aid and goods to Gaza
Israel has faced fierce criticism after deciding to stop all food and other supplies from entering Gaza, warning of "additional consequences" for Hamas if the ceasefire brokered by the United States, Qatar and Egypt is not extended.
Cairo and Doha accused Israel of violating humanitarian law by using hunger as a weapon.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called on all parties to fulfill their end of the deal and respect the terms of the agreement that came into effect on January 19. The first phase of a three-part deal expired days ago, but no agreement has been reached between the two sides on continuing the second phase.

Another positive message was shared on Sunday by the Vatican press office regarding the health condition of Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized for more than two weeks at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome for pneumonia.

According to reports from inside the hospital, the Pope had breakfast and received Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and his substitute, Monsignor Edgar Pena Parra. His treatment continues.
