16-year-old's suicide: Shocking reaction from students and school

In the latest episode of "Goats" by Andale Media, Keisiana Hoxha and Kristell Cerriku, accompanied by journalist Melisa Koduzi, brought to our attention a story that has left us speechless - but not without answers.

A young girl, Irsa Muçallari, tragically lost her life, while those around her today speak with indifference, as if she had never existed.

16-year-old's suicide: Shocking reaction from students and school

Students: "What do we have to do with it?"

Instead of reflecting on what happened, some students distanced themselves from the story:

"What do we have to do with him, we're in our third year, we didn't know him at all."

For them, the tragedy had not happened in their circle. In their eyes, a girl from the same school had not been important enough to be included in their memories.

"I'm not aware at all, nor do I want to be. It doesn't affect me at all, why should it affect me?" said another, accompanied by contemptuous laughter from his peers.

Meanwhile, the school, instead of dealing with the bullying, instituted a new security measure: Students are no longer allowed to go outside during recess.

Parents: "The children are not that evil, they were influenced by the teachers."

The parents, shocked by the loss, could not believe that the school children had been capable of such evil. "There is no way the children could be so evil, they were influenced by the teachers."

They were also surprised by the way their daughter was described by others:

"She wasn't poor. We had bought her the last phone before she lost her life."

Her brother had a big mortgage:

“I would buy him a new pair of glasses.”

But maybe neither the phone nor the glasses mattered.

“Oh, Dad, did you find yourself doing so much work today?” she had said to her father. A silent way of asking not to feel invisible.

The bullying that no one saw (or didn't want to see)

When the girls of "Goats" followed her daily path, from classroom to teachers, peers and family, they were faced with a painful reality: no one wanted to admit that this girl had been bullied.

"Where did all this big bullying happen that took 4 months to get to this point?" one of them asked.

One student avoided the discussion:

"I discussed it, but it's not like it was ever said that he was bullied or anything like that."

Another student gave a cold response, which perhaps reveals more than it should:

“I don’t know… there was no money.”

So it wasn't just bullying, but a silent contempt, a feeling that someone who didn't have expensive bags like the other girls in the class didn't deserve to be part of the group.

While others described her as “poor,” her parents rejected this perception. But, apparently, it was enough that she didn’t have a lifestyle similar to others for her to not be accepted.

The school was silent. The principal never came to offer his condolences.

On top of everything, her parents had received no warning from the school about her condition. No one had informed them of her recent absences. No one had signaled that anything was wrong.

"The teacher did not inform us of her recent absences from school. The principal never came to console us."

That girl had sought help in her own way. When a disagreement with her computer science teacher had caused her to leave the classroom, she had returned home ashamed. She hadn't even taken her bag with her.

If someone had seen, heard, and reacted… maybe it would have been different.

When even the "Goats" girls were bullied

In an ironic and painful moment, the girls at Andale Media faced bullying themselves. One girl pointed out Keisiana's appearance:

"Your lips feel like they've been stung by a bee."

Someone else, with laughter in the background, said:

"I am not aware, nor do I want to be."

A deep indifference, a disregard that continues, even when before them was the story of a girl who could not bear this treatment.

A girl leaving school, embarrassed, not even taking her bag with her, was a girl who was asking for help. But no one saw her. And today, a story that should never have happened is being made by these students and teachers into just another forgotten story.

Until when?
