At least ten firefighters and rescue workers die in forest fire in Turkey
At least ten firefighters and rescue workers were killed and 14 others injured on Wednesday while trying to stop the spread of a large forest fire in Eski?ehir province, in northwestern Turkey.
According to authorities, five of the victims were employees of the Forestry Directorate and five others were members of the AKUT search and rescue organization.
The incident brings to 13 the total number of fire deaths in Turkey this year, as the country grapples with extreme heat, strong winds and drought.
President Macron and wife sue Candace Owens for defamation
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, have filed a defamation lawsuit in the US against Candace Owens, accusing her of deliberately spreading false rumors that the first lady is a man.
The lawsuit, filed in Delaware Superior Court, accuses the Macrons of engaging in a "global campaign of humiliation" and "relentless bullying" aimed at personal gain and promoting her podcast.
They point out that one of the false claims repeated by Owens is that Brigitte Macron was born with the name Jean-Michel Trogneux, her brother's name.
White House denies Trump's ties to Epstein-related documents
The White House has denied reports that former President Donald Trump's name appears in US Justice Department documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
A White House spokesman called the claims "nothing more than a continuation of false stories invented by Democrats and the liberal media."
The comments come after a US judge rejected the Justice Department's request to release court documents from a Florida case involving Epstein.
The Trump administration has faced growing pressure to release more information about Epstein, who had connections to prominent figures. During his election campaign last year, Trump promised to declassify the files.
Over 100 organizations warn of mass starvation in Gaza
More than 100 international humanitarian and human rights organizations have warned of a famine catastrophe in Gaza and called on governments to act urgently.
Among the signatories to the statement are organizations such as Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Save the Children and Oxfam. They say their colleagues on the ground and the residents they help are "slowly dying of hunger."
Israel, which controls the entry of all supplies into the Gaza Strip, has rejected the accusations, calling the statement "propaganda in the service of Hamas."
This statement comes at the same time as the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry announced that ten more Palestinians have died from malnutrition in the past 24 hours.
