
Kosovo holds parliamentary elections

General parliamentary elections are being held in Kosovo, the ninth in a row since the end of the war in 1999 and the first regular elections since the declaration of independence in 2008.
Twenty-eight political forces are competing in these elections, of which 20 political parties, five coalitions, two civic lists and one independent candidate.
For four years, the government was led by the Vetëvendosje party with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who is seeking another mandate against other candidates.
Around two million voters have the right to vote, of which 105 thousand citizens vote outside Kosovo.
Car overturns in Mexico, several dead

Dozens of people died in a road accident in southern Mexico, where a bus overturned.
According to Reuters, the bus was traveling between Cancun and Tabasco. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known, nor is the exact number of victims.
According to a list of names released by the bus management company, Tours Acosta, there were about 44 passengers on the bus. The causes of the accident are not yet known, as the incident is under investigation.
Trump reveals he spoke with Putin about the war in Ukraine

Donald Trump has revealed that he had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump stressed that Putin "wants to see people stop dying."
Trump added: "Every day people are dying. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end this damn thing."
The US president said he would not reveal how many times he has spoken to Putin, but added that they have a "good relationship".
Mass protests in Germany against far-right

More than 200,000 protesters have gathered in the southern German city of Munich against far-right extremism ahead of the country's general election.
The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is currently in second place in the latest polls, and this has sparked widespread protests across the country before voters head to the polls on February 23.
Event organizers estimated the crowd could include up to 320,000 people, many of whom carried anti-AfD signs with slogans like, "Racism and hatred are not an alternative."
