Users of popular Meta platforms, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Threads, faced difficulties in sending messages and posts, as reports of problems started as early as 19:00 Albanian time.
Monitoring site Downdetector reported that the technical problems began around this time and affected users globally.
Meta reacted with an official statement clarifying:
"We are aware of a technical issue that is affecting some users accessing our applications. We are working to get the situation back to normal as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience."
Meanwhile, users, as usual, took to other social networks to express their anger about the difficulties in accessing Instagram and Facebook.
Similar connectivity issues do happen from time to time, but it's rare for four of the world's most used platforms to be affected at the same time.
Some users reported back to normal after about an hour, however the cause of the outage remains unclear.
On the other hand, the X platform, which was not affected by the problems, did not miss the opportunity to make fun of the Meta.
"This app never lets you down," X's official website wrote in a post, addressing its followers.
