The latest allegations against Jay Z could jeopardize Beyonce's career plans, according to international media.
Jay Z has strongly denied the accusations against him, where it is alleged that he raped a 13-year-old girl. The report says the rapper, along with Sean "Diddy" Combs, is named in a lawsuit alleging they participated in the sexual abuse of the 13-year-old during an MTV VMAs "after-party" in New York on September 7, 2000.
An unidentified celebrity is said to have also been present at the event. The lawsuit was originally filed against P Diddy in October, but has now been amended to include Jay Z as well.
Beyonce's career in jeopardy
The allegations could raise concerns about Beyoncé's upcoming projects, including her world tour and a highly anticipated Christmas Day performance at the NFL game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens.
A source told The Sun:
"Beyoncé and Jay Z are one of the most powerful couples in the world, so even though the allegations are unrelated, her name has already been thrown into online speculation. The plan was for Beyoncé to perform a new song during her show Christmas Day, before the tour started."
Jay Z released a statement denouncing the allegations as "horrific" and attacked attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents 120 alleged victims of Sean "Diddy" Combs. He categorically denied the accusations.
"My only pain is for my family," he said, among other things.
Likewise, Jay Z expressed regret for having to explain the situation to his children, stressing:
"My wife and I will have to sit down with our children, one of whom is at an age where her friends will see the lawsuit in the media and ask questions about the nature of these allegations, so we will explain to the children the harshness and greed of men."
The accusations are endangering not only Jay Z's career, but also the reputation of his wife, Beyonce. It is not yet known whether the pair will temporarily retire from performing on the big stages.
Likewise, the "virtual attack" on Beyonce and Jay Z has started with the publication of serious accusations against P Diddy, a close friend of the pair.
