Rapper and music producer Jay Z has been sued for raping a 13-year-old girl, along with Sean "Diddy" Combs. The event, according to the lawsuit, happened in 2000.
The lawsuit filed Sunday alleges that Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and Combs raped the girl at an after-party after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.
"Another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter abused the minor. "Many others were present but did nothing to stop the attack," the lawsuit states. “Carter was with Combs during many of the other incidents described here. Both must face justice."
Combs, also known as Diddy, is currently in prison facing charges of sex trafficking and other crimes.
The person who filed the charges has not yet been identified.
Jay Z reacted by accusing the lawyer who is defending the case in question. He called him an "ugly man".
“My lawyer was blackmailed, through a so-called demand letter, by a 'lawyer' named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was that the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are,” he said in a statement.
Buzbee, the lawyer who is defending the case against Jay Z, told AFP news agency, “The lawsuit speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter that will be tried in court."
