Debbie Nelson, mother of rapper Eminem, has reportedly died aged 69.
According to a TMZ report, Nelson died on Monday, December 2, after a diagnosis of advanced lung cancer. News of her illness was first reported by multiple media outlets in September.
Representatives for Eminem did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
Eminem, 52, and Nelson had a rocky relationship throughout her life, but she supported her son from afar in recent years. When he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, she congratulated him online.
"Marshall, I mean, I couldn't let this day go by without congratulating you on being in the Hall of Fame," she said in a video that has since been deleted.
"I love you so much. I knew you'd get there. It's been a long journey," Nelson added at the time. "I'm so, so proud of you."
Eminem's late father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., died in 2019 at the age of 67.
