Colleen Hoover's books are taking another step to the big screen, and Anne Hathaway is stepping into a particularly thrilling role.
The Oscar winner will star in the 2018 film adaptation of Hoover's best-selling novel, Verity. The Amazon MGM Studios film will tell the story of a struggling writer, Lowen, on the brink of financial ruin, who finds the opportunity to make a successful series of thrillers.
However, when Lowen discovers an unfinished manuscript, she begins to uncover chilling secrets that could change everything.
Hathaway is reuniting with director Michael Showalter, with whom she previously worked in 2024 on Prime Video's The Idea of ??You. Following the announcement of Hathaway's casting on November 20, Hoover shared her excitement for the cast and crew of Verity on Instagram.
Who is in the cast of Verity?
On November 20, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Hathaway would star as Verity Craëford in the adaptation of Hoover's novel.
While the rest of the cast has yet to be revealed, Hoover shared her excitement about finalizing the casting process with The Hollywood Reporter during the premiere of It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of another of her books, in August 2024.
"Right now, it's all just a blur in my head," she confessed. "But I'm so excited that the movie is finally coming to life."
While she didn't reveal her casting choices, she did joke that she wished Brandon Sklenar, who played Atlas Corrigan on It Ends With Us, "could play every character."
"He would be a great Jeremy," she said.
