What is "Throneing"?
"Throneing" is a term used to describe a particular type of relationship where one person is treated as the center of attention or as the "king/queen". This term often involves treating the partner with special care, maximum attention, or fulfilling his/her wishes.
In other words, from the name itself, this relationship consists in placing a figurative "throne" of one of the partners.
In fact, this is a form of hypergamy that has existed since the dawn of romantic dating. Hypergamy is the practice of dating or marrying someone of higher status in an attempt to somehow improve your position. While hypergamy can have a range of different purposes, the purpose of "throning" is very specific: dating someone to enhance your reputation. In this case, if you are in a relationship with a successful or famous person, others tend to see you as such as well.
In fact, this trend is not limited to love relationships.
Many people aim to become popular or successful by associating with accomplished people at work, school or other social settings.

They keep mentioning you or asking about your reputation: People tend to talk more about what they care about most.
