Cardi B hit back at Elon Musk after he called her a "puppet" after a moment of confusion during a technical glitch at Kamala Harris' rally in Milwaukee on Friday.
"I'm not a doll, Elon," the "WAP" singer wrote on Platform X on Saturday. "I am the daughter of two immigrant parents who worked hard to make a living for me. I am a product of social assistance." added Cardi, 32, referring to the rental assistance program for low-income families.
“I'm a product of poverty and a product of what happens when the system is stacked against you... But you don't know anything about that. You know nothing about the American battle,” she added, addressing Musk.
Her response came after Musk posted a video on X of the singer, who didn't have the best speech at Kamala Harris' rally. "Another puppet that can't talk without someone reading the words," wrote the Tesla founder. "Kamala's campaign lacks any genuine originality or empathy."
On Friday, Cardi admitted she was "a little nervous" when she couldn't read the speech off the teleprompter.
"I have been waiting for this moment all my life. All my life!” she said, adding that she needed "patience" from the crowd.
"Are we ready to change for the next eight years?" she then asked the audience. "Because we're going to make sure Kamala Harris is in office for eight years!"
Afterwards, Cardi picked up a phone, in which she read her speech.
