Metro Boomin is being sued for sexual abuse

Metro Boomin, the American producer, has been sued for sexually assaulting a woman. A 38-year-old woman named Vanessa LeMaistre has filed a lawsuit in California against the producer, whose real name is Leland Wayne, alleging that he raped her in his studio in 2016. As a result, a few weeks later , she claims that she became pregnant from this event.

"When Wayne invited LeMaistre to visit him at the recording studios in California where she lived, she was happy for the opportunity to see him work because she was passionate about music, but more importantly because music provided an escape from pain that she had after the loss of her first son," the lawsuit said.

"However, the encounter with Wayne resulted in Ms. LeMaistre suffering the second worst thing that ever happened to her: being raped by someone who claimed to be her friend for months," the lawsuit continued.

Wayne's lawyer responded to the accusations by saying, "These are false accusations and Mr. Wayne will defend himself in court."

According to the lawsuit, LeMaistre visited the producer's studio in Los Angeles several times after their courtship began, and the alleged assault occurred during one of those visits in September of that year. On that occasion, according to the complaint, she was "immediately given alcohol. She also swallowed half of a Xanax, which she used to cope with the anxiety of losing her son."

LeMaistre later woke up "completely unable to move or speak" after Wayne allegedly raped her. The lawsuit alleges that LeMaistre never gave her consent to have sex.

A few weeks after the alleged assault, LeMaistre discovered she was pregnant. The lawsuit states that "she had not had sexual intercourse with anyone else, so Ms. LeMaistre knew that the pregnancy was the result of Wayne raping her." She chose to terminate the pregnancy due to her "deteriorating mental health".

To substantiate the claims about the incident, the lawsuit points to the lyrics of Wayne's song "Rap Saved Me." The song has lyrics that include: “She took a Xanny, then passed out. I come from the end, I have not undergone any changes. Only rap saved me from the end. She drives me crazy/ Gives birth to my child.”

The lyrics have been admitted as evidence in recent criminal cases by prosecutors who brought racketeering charges against Young Thug over alleged gang violence. This has sparked controversy over free speech protections and the introduction of racial bias into jury deliberations. Such evidence is rarely allowed in civil cases.

Wayne, one of rap's most in-demand producers, rose to fame in the 2010s after collaborating with Atlanta-based artists Future, Young Thug and 21 Savage, among others. In 2022, he created the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
