Brian Austin Green can pinpoint exactly when his marriage to Megan Fox started going sour. After his "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Tori Spelling recalled a conversation with the "Jennifer's Body" actress in which she expressed that the way Brian chewed was annoying her, he admitted that it was one of the signs that they were no longer in sync.
"I honestly think the chewing thing was a clear indicator that things weren't going well and everything was making him nervous," Brian, 51, said on the Oct. 29 episode of the misSPELLING podcast. "You get to a point where you think:
“Oh my God, even the way I throw my legs now. The way he's putting that toast in the toaster is driving me crazy.' It's all those little, pointless things.”
But the actor, who has three sons with Megan: Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 6, stressed that such moments can be crucial for a couple, making them decide whether to work on the relationship. or they will be separated.
"That's the moment when you either have to decide to say, 'OK, we're going to go to therapy, we're going to try to find our connection and find out what's going on, or these things are going to sink us,'" he explained. "They will be the end of us. Because they just pile up and get worse.”
Tori, 51, mentioned that when the conversation about Megan's frustrations first came up, she didn't understand her distress.
“I remember thinking at the time, 'How bad can it be? Does that really bother him?'” Tori said.
Brian and Megan finally separated in 2020 after nine years of marriage, finalizing their divorce in early 2022. Both have since found love. The "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" actress got engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, although their relationship has had its ups and downs.
As for Brian, he got engaged to Sharna Burgess in 2023, about a year after the couple welcomed their son, Zane, 2. In April, he opened up about his top rule of co-parenting when it comes to co-parenting with Megan.
"Rule number one is to always make sure everything is focused on the kids' experience," Brian told E! News.
