Monika Kryemadhi has spoken to the media in a press statement, after the arrest of Ilir Meta and the measure "obligation to appear" that was imposed on the deputy. Kryemadhi said that she has not contacted her ex-husband for 7 months and indicated, among other things, that the issue of the "Tirana incinerator" has ruined her marriage.
"My communication with Ilir Meta has been zero for 7 months, except for the day when the issue of divorce came to the house. I have no communication with him. Of course, we will work separately on this issue. I can say that the arrest measure for Ilir Meta is an arrest measure that tries to further develop our family conflict".
Further, she continued:
"The things they suspect about me they want to put on Ilir Meta. I will not meet him in prison. And even if I love you, he doesn't accept. There is no greater arrest than spiritual arrest. I do not wish my family conflict on anyone. It is not a conflict between two people who are familiar with the visitor, or for interest. They were two people who loved each other very much. We walked hand in hand for 33 years and my desire to fight the incinerator of Tirana led to the payment of a very large bill: the destruction of my family".
In June of this year, Ilir Meta said that he and Monika Kryemadhi are in the process of divorce.
"Mrs. Monika Kryemadhi is already my ex-wife and today I followed the legal path for this issue. I also informed my son, Besar Ilir Meta", said the former president.
Two months before the divorce, Kryemadhi himself confessed in the studio of "Opinion" that the relationship of the former couple had suffered a crisis:
"My marital relationship with Meta is a relationship frozen for the moment due to the conflict in the party, of course within our family. I think that it is not the first time that Ilir Meta and I have these conflicts. We don't have these principled, moral conflicts between each other. Our conflicts are only political conflicts", she said, adding: "The greatest arrogance in both men and women is when they think that they can build their happiness and power by destroying the happiness and family of someone else. but that doesn't happen. Why doesn't it happen? It doesn't happen because the moral relationship is much more important than the financial relationship."
