Liam Payne died as a result of multiple traumas, as well as internal and external bleeding, caused by his fall from the third floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. An autopsy was performed in Argentina and according to the result, the blows he suffered to the head were enough to cause his death.
The investigation, which included the questioning of 5 witnesses who saw the singer during the last hours of his life, showed that he was alone in the hotel room when the tragic incident occurred. According to the investigation, narcotic substances and alcohol were found in the hotel room.
The former One Direction member passed away on Wednesday (October 16, 2024). People inside the hotel told The Guardian they heard noises and screams for hours before Payne fell from the balcony.
"I thought there were adjustments being made because there was a lot of banging, slamming doors, most of the day. There was a lot of noise, it was strange. Later I heard sirens and thought there had been a fire. Then I heard a scream," said Doug Jones, who was staying at the same hotel.
A hotel receptionist had notified the police that a man had aggressive behavior and might be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The hotel manager also heard a loud noise in the back of the hotel and when the police arrived, they found Payne's dead body.
