Cameron Diaz has shown one of the biggest reasons that convinced her to return to the big screen, and it is about her husband, Benji Madden. "He is the best", said the 52-year-old actress, referring to her 45-year-old husband, during the "Fortune's Most Powerful Women" summit.
Diaz will return with 2 films: "Back in Action" and "Shrek 5", after almost a decade away from cinema. Her last film was "Annie" and after that, she focused on family and marriage. In 2015, Diaz married Madden and 4 years later, their daughter, Raddix, was born. In March 2024, the couple announced the birth of their son, Cardinal.
She confessed that her husband said:
"You have supported us to build this family and in my ventures. Now is the moment to let mom do her thing", referring to her return to acting.
Diaz, regarding her break from acting, has expressed that she felt it was the right moment for a departure, in order to take control of her life again. She explained that it was very important for her to create and build her family.
Of course, Diaz also got an offer he couldn't refuse. Jamie Fox called her and asked her to be part of the cast of the movie "Back to Action" and Diaz couldn't say no. She said, "Come with me," Jamie said, and I said, "Okay, let's do it."
"Back to Action" is the third film that Jamie Fox and Cameron Diaz make together. It was supposed to be released in April 2023, but was postponed due to the actor's health problems.
