The loss of Gert Bogdan: Public figures express their condolences

Today the sphere of politics and not only was shocked by the news that Gert Bogdani passed away suddenly and at a very young age. According to the testimony of friends with whom he was at the time of his cardiac arrest, the former deputy was drinking coffee when he developed breathing problems. Next, he went to the toilet and because he was late, his friends became worried and looked for him, only to find him lying on the floor. According to the police, he was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, he died.

The shocking news shocked people and of course, the wife, friends and deputies of the Democratic and Socialist parties expressed their condolences.

Through a post on Facebook, the wife of the deceased, Edlira Çepani , announced where and when the escort to the last residence will be carried out.

"With deep sadness, we announce the untimely loss of father, husband, son, brother Gerti Bogdani. We announce that the tributes and the farewell ceremony will be held the following day, dt. September 19, 2024, in the Hall of Plenary Sessions of the Parliament of Albania, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the burial will take place afterwards in the Sharra cemetery".

His brother-in-law, Arbër Çepani, also made a reaction on Instagram. He said: "Why did you do it to us, Gert...why did you do it to us?".

While Lisandre Hoxha , one of his friends, said:

"We are shocked, we have lost a friend and a comrade, a wonderful guy and I am honestly speechless. A good man, who gave a lot to the DP Forum when he was chairman, as well as to the parliament when he was a deputy. As Lysander, I have had a lot of company with him and I feel very shocked. Gerti Bogdani was a very regular person, he lived a regular, family life, and so all of us as friends are shocked. I express my condolences to the family, friends and relatives. If there were more boys like Gerti, Albania would be different", said Hoxha.

The former DP deputy, Lajla Përnaska , who knew Bogdan as a child, said to Euronews:

“Së pari, dua të shfrytëzoj edhe median tuaj që t’i përcjell ngushëllimet e mia prindërve, bashkëshortes, fëmijëve. S’do e kisha imagjinuar kurrë të isha në një panel të tillë të flisja për diçka të kësaj natyre. Jam këtu në respekt të figurës së Gertit dhe gjithë asaj që ai ka lënë pas, në respekt të njohjes sime me familjen dhe në vazhdim të rrugëtimit tim edhe për punën me të brenda Partisë Demokratike. Njohja me të është që fëmijë, sepse me nënë e Gertit kam lidhje familjare, ishte imazhi i një fëmije me një model të shkëlqyer në shkollë, në sjellje. Unë e ndoqa me shumë kënaqësi mbrëmë në një media, kur diskutohej për fushatën zgjedhore në SHBA dhe m'u bë qejfi që u rikthye në debatin politik e publik,” –u shpreh Përnaska.

Sali Berisha gjithashtu ka shprehur tronditjen dhe ngushëllimet e tij:

“Ky lajm i zi në këtë moment më erdhi këtu në tavolinë. Ky është një lajm shokues. Gerti Bogdani ka qenë dhe do të mbetet në memorien time, njëri nga personalitetet e reja të PD-së më të njohura, më të shquara. Ka qenë një politikan demokrat, me civilitet, me formim me përgatitje, me ndershmëri, me urtësi, në shkallën më të lartë. Kjo është një humbje e madhe për PD-në, por është një humbje e vërtetë për shoqërinë shqiptare”,- shkroi ish-kryeministri.

Edi Rama shkroi: “Keqardhje për ndarjen kaq të parakohshme nga jeta dhe ngushëllime bashkëshortes e familjes Bogdani”.

Edhe ish-presidenti Ilir Meta shprehu dhimbjen për lajmin tragjik:

“Thellësisht i trishtuar nga lajmi për ndarjen e parakohshme nga jeta të ish-deputetit të Partisë Demokratike, Gert Bogdani. Gjatë gjithë angazhimit të tij politik, ai krijoi një model pozitiv për të rinjtë duke i nxitur të jenë pjesë e vendimmarrjes”.

Presidenti Bajram Begaj u shpreh: “Hidhërim për ikjen e beftë nga jeta të Gerti Bogdanit. Ngushëllime familjes së tij, bashkëshortes, të afërme, miqve dhe kolegëve! Gerti Bogdani, i angazhuar që në rininë e tij në jetën publike të vendit, promovoi vlerat më të mira në qeverisjen lokale, jetën parlamentare dhe atë politike, duke i shërbyer vendit, kauzës së të rinjve për përfshirjen e tyre në vendimmarrje dhe integrimit në BE.”

Erion Veliaj tregoi keqardhjen e tij: “I keqardhur për ndarjen e parakohshme nga jeta të Gert Bogdanit, ngushëllime bashkëshortes dhe familjes!  U prehtë në paqe!”.

One of his friends, Fatmir Mediu , said: "It's shocking! My friend for years, Gerti Bogdani, deputy of the Democratic Party, former chairman of FRPD, a man with special human qualities passed away. We are all speechless, this is great pain. May God give strength to Edlira and Gerti's children, parents and brother in this very difficult moment! Rest in peace my friend, next to the God you trusted so much".

Bledi Çuçi , in a post on social networks, said: "Horrible news, the sudden separation from the life of our colleague and former MP, Gerti Bogdani. Hard to find words to ease the heavy weight of pain and hearts turned to stone by shock. Condolences to Gert's wife, children and family members! May your soul rest in peace and light!".

Blendi Fevziu  said that no one deserves to leave this world so young, especially Bogdani.
