Last night (September 7, 2024) the match for the League of Nations took place. Albania beat Ukraine 2-1 in Prague. Despite the problems that our national team faced, such as the absences in attack and defense, they still managed to get the victory.
In the 54th minute, Ardian Ismajli scored a goal, 5 minutes after Konoplia from the Ukrainian team penetrated the Albanian goal. Further, Jasir Asani also scores, in the 66th minute, giving away the victory.
However, during the match, there was also a moment of disagreement between Rey Manaj and Kristian Asllani. Manaj didn't let him shoot the penalty kick, which caused Asllani to be happy. He spoke publicly, saying that Rey has a friend and that he was a little upset on the court, but next time, he will shoot the free kick.
"I was upset because I like penalty kicks a lot because I've been training since I was little. But he has a good leg too. I reacted a little badly because I was bored. A few minutes were missing, but no problem with Rey, I'm good friends with him. We joked then, no problem, but I will shoot the next one", said Asllani in the statement to the media and not only set a limit, but also determined who will kick the ball next time.
He also said that the Albanian national team got the 3 points, but could do better:
"This is a victory away from home with a team that plays football very well. We had a lot without a win. We are happy to see you before we have a tough game on Tuesday. We knew it was difficult, but we tried to play our football. We could have done more with the ball but we got three points and it didn't stand out much. We are very happy that we thought about it a little internally and we had that with the Czech Republic that we didn't win, we needed it and we are happy", said Asllani.
