Anxiety is a condition that many of us experience at some point in our lives. "Many people struggle with some form of anxiety and it's very normal and common," says psychologist Rachel Goldman. "Even Simone Biles took a break from gymnastics to take care of herself and came back much stronger to make history at the Paris 2024 Olympics."

There are many people who alleviate their condition with medication or professional therapy, but according to the expert there are also other natural methods that help you improve or relieve anxiety efficiently.

#1 Keep a consistent routine

A possible cause of anxiety is the lack of routine in everyday life. "Creating structure to your day will make you feel more in control," says Goldman, and as a result, you'll have more control over everything you do in your personal life, at work, at school, and more.

#2 Just breathe

It sounds simple, but focusing on your breath and practicing deep breathing exercises can calm you both physically and mentally.

#3 Make moves

A little movement, even a short walk around the neighborhood or some light exercise at the gym can help you better control anxiety.

#4 Drink chamomile tea

Chamomile is known for its calming effects, so this type of tea has been proven to help improve anxiety symptoms, not only in people with diagnosed anxiety disorders, but also in those with mild symptoms.

#5 Keep a journal

"Don't censor yourself, just write down all the thoughts that come into your head. This is a good form of relief to share, even with yourself, the anxiety or the situation you are in," the psychologist continues.

#6 Practice the 3-3-3 rule

Most of the time, anxious thoughts center around things we cannot control. But if we bring our focus back to the present, it helps ease the anxiety. One way to focus is the 3-3-3 rule, that is, focus on one thing you can see, one thing you can touch, and one thing you can hear.

#7 Increase your magnesium intake

Magnesium is a mineral that affects the state of relaxation and reduces tension. Not getting enough magnesium means you can feel tired, be less able to avoid illness and cortisol levels can stay elevated

#8 Meditate

It is said that the people who have no time for meditation are the ones who need it the most. Whether you're a pro or someone who finds the idea of ??being alone with your thoughts boring, there's a meditation practice out there for you. Mainly, it affects the relief or control of your anxiety.
