Luiza Gega failed to qualify for the final of the athletics event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She placed 9th in the event, thus disqualifying her from the Olympics.
Luiza made a reaction on Instagram, saying that she has a hard time finding the words and that she feels like a failure at such moments.

"It's so hard to find words when you feel like a total failure, and in fact, in these moments, I feel like that," she begins the post.
"I know that it will pass, everything passes with time, but at this moment it hurts a lot, because I really tried and (I) dreamed that I would make it, despite the fact that in April, after I got sick, things took a "dash" . Anyway, I still tried hard every day, even with a lot of stress from the bad feelings of my body, I still hoped that I would be able to cope with a competition of (this) level, but in fact, it didn't happen like that".
Further, it follows:
"Even why I didn't say it, I was in a big dilemma with myself whether I should come or not, but I knew that the pledge not to try it would hurt me a lot. I really want to apologize to everyone who believed in me and I let them down. I thank all those who support me in good times, even in bad ones. The dream of Paris closes today."
Gega was the last representative of Albania in the Olympic Games in the discipline of athletics.
