As trichologist Shap Capara explains: "The pH levels of pool water (7.2 to 7.8) and seawater differ greatly from the pH of healthy hair (4.5 to 5.5), which causing damaged, lifeless hair that breaks quickly."

#1 Cover your hair with a swim cap
Make sure you get all your hair in it so the water doesn't seep through.

The hat will protect the hair from any splashes of water and keep the sun's rays away from the hair.
#3 Pull the hair into a ponytail
Don't have swimming caps or sun hats with you? No problem. Simply wrap your hair in a high ponytail or bun to keep most of it out of the water.
#4 Apply conditioner
If you have dry hair, seawater or swimming pools will worsen their condition, so using a balm cream softens the effects of the damage.
#5 Rinse your hair with cool water
After leaving the sea or pools, simply rinse in a shower to remove all dirt from your body and hair.
#6 Use a nourishing shampoo
To prevent oxidation or damage, hair should be shampooed immediately after swimming. Look for formulas that have ingredients like apple cider vinegar or clay that help cleanse your scalp and moisturize your hair.
#7 Avoid the dryer
This method helps reduce heat damage, especially in summer. Therefore, the less you use the dryer or not at all, the better for your hair.
