Sonila Meço talks about pregnancy and motherhood: "A mother is born

Sonila Meço, invited to the "Mom" podcast with Orinda Huta, talked about pregnancy and motherhood, saying that she simply felt that the moment had come to become a mother.

Sonila Meço talks about pregnancy and motherhood: "A mother is born

"I felt it. In fact, it had been several months since an internal call had come. Now look, in my 30s I'm convinced that for every girl, no matter how involved she is with her career, there comes an inner calling. It came to me, but it came to me immediately, it almost woke me up from my sleep, yesterday I put this in front of me, put some things in front of me, put this in front of me, and then I woke up in the morning and said: "I want a child!" , she said.

Sonila recalled the pregnancy, indicating that she had a lot of professional workload. "I had 3 hours a day of broadcasting", she said and added that it was a difficult and very busy period. "It was the end of January and I was waiting for my cycle to come on the 28th and I would drive my parents to my sister's. I wake up in the morning and take a pregnancy test. I was 100% convinced (that I was pregnant). I took Drini (husband) on the phone and told him: "Drini, I'm pregnant", adding that she was super convinced.

She showed that she did several tests a day and after 3 days passed since the cycle did not come, she told Drini that she was convinced that she was pregnant and that the gynecologist also confirmed it. Sonila showed that she felt it and was even 100% convinced that it was a boy.

"All my joy began to fade because I felt the first nausea and from that moment until I felt Amaris alive, I was on bed rest." Sonila shared that she lost 10 kg and gradually recovered. The moderator showed that she really wanted a boy, while Drini wanted a girl, but did not express it.

"Whatever it was, it would have to be done with tremendous love," said Sonila.

She told that Amarisi was born by caesarean section and meanwhile, she was talking and reading Helena Kadare's book.

"I heard a cry and I said 'well who was born'. As I remember now, I also stretched my head. The doctor told me that Amarisi was born. Drini was in the hall and I probably wanted to ask if she was healthy, but I asked 'is she beautiful?'

As for the name, she said that in fact, Vera Grabocka told her that names with 2 'a's have very positive energy. She said she wanted a masculine-sounding name, and while searching for names, she found Amaris, a Hebrew name that means "promised by God."

Sonila said, among other things, that "motherhood is a mental illness".

"The mother's mentality changes, the experience, especially when you are a mother with the first child, as I see that with the second or third child there is a kind of sportsmanship on the part of mothers. My mom still says it's hard with me and my sister, even though she's a grandmother. I mean, when J.Lo said that motherhood is a mental illness, she wasn't so wrong. Mother, even if the difficulty does not exist, she creates the difficulty. I get the impression that it's instinctive and it's very personal. The mother is born to be worried", said the moderator.

Sonila also said that one of the most important things is fulfillment as a mother. She said that since her daughter, Amarisi, is in her early teens, she has noticed many changes and that the moderator is the one who talks the most. "It is a difficult period and with it, every day I try to create new communication bridges. The whole mindset and way of living has changed", Sonila confessed, citing digitization as a factor. "It takes double the time to explain how important fresh air, physical activity, sports and face-to-face contact with other people are," she said.

The moderator showed that she is not a strict midwife and does not ask her daughter to be super organized. She added that for her it is very important that her daughter knows two elements: Communication and authority. Among other things, Sonila said that once with her father, Amarisi used to tease her a lot and make jokes, but over time, the fact that she is a public person also influenced things, things changed.

She emphasized that learning is very important and she wants Amarisi to open his mind and learn.
