Donald Trump has appeared in public for the first time since the assassination attempt on him over the weekend. Bandaged to his right ear, where the bullet had grazed him, the former president appeared before the crowd, which cheered for him.

At the next meeting in Milwaukee, the former president was greeted with ovations and chants of "America!", "Fight" and "Proud to be Americans."

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott also spoke about the assassination against Trump, who called the 20-year-old assassin "the devil". "If you didn't believe in miracles before Sunday, you better start believing. A devil came to Pennsylvania carrying a pistol, but a lion rose at his feet and roared."

The Secret Service and the FBI have identified the perpetrator, a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooksm, who stood out on the roof of a building very close to the Trump rally and was killed by US Security Forces. According to a video that circulated on social networks a few minutes before the attack, the young man was registered as a Republican voter and openly expressed the fact that he hated Trump.

The shooting left one rally participant dead and another seriously injured, authorities say.

Trump's reaction

"The bullet grazed the top of my right ear, but I thank the Secret Service for their quick response. I knew immediately that something was wrong in what I heard, a noise, shots and immediately I felt the bullet penetrating the skin. Most importantly: I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who was killed in the rally, as well as to the families of the other people who were seriously injured. It is unbelievable that such an act can happen in our country. God bless America!” he closes his reaction on the social network Truth Social.
