To raise good children, here are 6 things you should do

Many parents feel tired of the fact that technology is "ruining" their children. Digital age moms and dads are aware of children's increased attention to technological devices, but this approach should not come at the expense of their kindness and sensitivity.

Psychologist Richard Weissbourd from "Harvard University" shows several ways to do this, always if your mission is to raise good children.

#1 Spend time with your children

This is the foundation of everything! Spend time with your children, ask questions about them, about the world and the way they see things, and listen more carefully to their answers. Not only will you learn your child's worldview, but you will also show your caring side and sensitivity to other people, situations, etc.

#2 Say the things that matter out loud

Parents know that taking care of children is the priority of their lives, but often children do not understand this message. So, make sure you say out loud the things that matter and are addressed to your children, from taking care of grades, checking in with teachers, courses they are taking, etc.

#3 Show the child how to process ideas

If your child is giving up on a sport or other activity, encourage him to find the source of the problem. Then, help them understand the fact that quitting an activity is not the solution, but finding the problem and dealing with it is. This formula also applies to other decisions in life.

#4 Give help and be grateful

Children who help others tend to be more generous and loving as the years go by. Therefore, it is the parents' duty to show them at home when they help their sisters or brothers, to be grateful to them, etc.

#5 Control the child's difficult emotions

Helping children process emotions and then guiding them toward safe conflict resolution will guide them toward a focus on being caring individuals when they grow up.

#6 Ask them to put themselves in other people's shoes

The key is to get children to care for other people who may be family, elders, relatives or peers. You can do this by training them to be good listeners, encouraging them to put themselves in other people's shoes, and fostering empathy.
