Bejkush Birçe, the legend of Albanian football, has passed away at the age of 81. The Albanian Football Federation announced the bitter news through a post on Instagram.
"Albanian football loses a legend! Bejkush Birçe passes away. The big Albanian football family has received the sad news of the death of Bejkush Birçe. Birçe, a big name in Albanian football, contributed as a player and coach of the national team, while he was also the vice president of the AFL. The AFL expresses its sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Birçe for this great loss! Rest in peace, Bejkush Birçe!", the caption of the post reads.

Bejkush Birçe was born on February 13, 1943 and is one of the most popular football players and coaches. In his 25-year career, he has played in teams such as Partizani, Dinamo, Flamurtari, Lokomotiva, Naftetari, as well as in the Albanian national team. Also, Birçe has won two leagues; one with Partizan and one with Dinamo.
From 1997-2001, he was also the vice-president of the AFL.
