Klaus Gjasula was the player of the match yesterday, who gave us unprecedented emotions. First, in the 76th minute, he scored an own goal, leading Croatia to the advantage, and then, in extra time, he gave the equalizing goal to our national team. The match ended with the score 2-2.
In an interview for Panorama Sport, Gjasula talked about the emotions he experienced during such an unusual experience.
"It was a great game. The match went 1-0 for us. Then, they (Croats) turned it back, and in the end we managed to equalize. We also had some good counter-attacks to score the third goal, so it was a very exciting game. The first few minutes were difficult. Not only the own goal, but also for some situations that I didn't do well. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to score this goal", he said.
Furthermore, Gjasula admitted that in the first 55-60 minutes, the national team played a better game, then lost a little control.
Klaus has entered the history of the European Championship as the footballer who has scored an own goal and a goal in the same match, according to OPTA.
